In Sunday's Atlanta Journal/Constitution, there was an article about an increase in the number of people who were going to fortune tellers to seek advice about their futures, jobs, monies, love life, etc. Seeking advice from fortune tellers is NOT OF GOD, it is of the devil. God is a jealous God. [Exodus 20:5] He wants us to seek Him.
The Bible lets us know that fortune telling is associated with witchcraft, sorcery, mediums, etc. The Bible also calls these people who practice fortune telling “LIARS” and the truth is not in them. Only God is ALL-KNOWING.
Listed below are scriptures to confirm that fortune telling is not of God:
Leviticus 19:26: “…“Do not practice fortune-telling or witchcraft.”
Deuteronomy 18:10: “……And do not let your people practice fortune-telling, or use sorcery, or interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft,"
Deuteronomy 18:14: “The nations you are about to displace consult sorcerers and fortune-tellers, but the Lord your God forbids you to do such things.”
2 Kings 17:17: “….They consulted fortune-tellers and practiced sorcery and sold themselves to evil, arousing the Lord’s anger.”
Isaiah 44:25: “I expose the false prophets as liars and make fools of fortune-tellers. I cause the wise to give bad advice, thus proving them to be fools.”
Jeremiah 27:9: “Do not listen to your false prophets, fortune-tellers, interpreters of dreams, mediums, and sorcerers….”
Jeremiah 29:8: “This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: “Do not let your prophets and fortune-tellers who are with you in the land of Babylon trick you. Do not listen to their dreams”
Ezekiel 21:29: “Your prophets have given false visions, and your fortune-tellers have told lies. The sword will fall on the necks of the wicked for whom the day of final reckoning has come.
Micah 3:7: “Then you seers will be put to shame, and you fortune-tellers will be disgraced. And you will cover your faces because there is no answer from God.”
Zechariah 10:2: “Household gods give worthless advice, fortune-tellers predict only lies, and interpreters of dreams pronounce falsehoods that give no comfort. So my people are wandering like lost sheep; they are attacked because they have no shepherd.
Dear children of God, do not be fooled. Seek the true and living God. Seeking fortune tellers is not the answer. Only God has the answers for us who earnestly seek Him.

It's very interesting that you should post this particular blog. As I was driving to Stockbridge, GA a few days ago I noticed a very disturbing number of cars parked at a palm reader's establishment. I began to question the state of the world and in whom we, as a nation, place our trust. People are desperately seeking answers and direction in these wearisome times. Your scriptures say it all. The ANSWER is GOD – not palm readers, not the financial institution, not the big businesses, not the President of the United States of America!
