Trusting God as Our All Sufficient One

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. II Corinthians 12:9

This is a powerful statement, Our Lord's grace (unmerited favor) is sufficient for us. When you ponder on this statement it makes you want to shout.

Grace is God's presence, favor, and power. It is a force, a heavenly strength bestowed on those who call upon God. This grace will descend upon the faithful believer who accepts his weaknesses and difficulties for the gospel's sake. The greater our weakness and trials for Christ, the more grace God will give us to accomplish His will. What he bestows on us is always sufficient for us to live our daily lives, to work for Him, and to endure our suffering and "thorns in the flesh."

As long as we draw near to Christ, Christ will bestow His heavenly strength and comfort on us. We would glory and see eternal value in our weaknesses, for they cause the power of Christ to descend on us and dwell within us as we walk through life toward our heavenly home. (Full Life Study Bible)
