Praising Yourself Out of A Negative Situation

Praise (Hebrew, tehillim) means, "to offer grateful homage to (God or a deity), as in words or song". The authors of the Psalms gives us 150 divisions of why they praised God. This same act of praising God is an example of how we should live our lives, a life full of praise.

Praising God opens doors which we, not be all knowing are not aware of. The story of Jehoshaphat is an excellent example of how praising God can turn a bad situation into a good one.

II Chronicles 20 tells us how the word came to Jehoshaphat that a vast army was coming against him. Jehoshaphat did not panic, he proclaimed a fast for all Judah. The Lord told him not to be afraid or discouraged because the battle was not his, but God's. Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army. As they begin to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against Jehoshaphat's enemies. The enemies were so confused that they fought each other and not one had escaped.

Why are you dwelling on self pity instead of praising your way out of a negative situation?
